About Us
In February, Stony Brook University will honor the culture and historical contributions
of the Pan-African community, through educational and cultural activities reflecting
the theme: African Americans and Labor.
Throughout February, University offices, departments, student clubs and organizations
will host a variety of activities to celebrate and honor African American/ Black heritage.
The Black History Month tradition is designed to increase awareness about the historical
legacy of the African American/Black experience in the struggle for equality, inclusion,
social change, and social justice.
Feel free to visit this website often for up to date program information. Black History Month is coordinated by Diversity, Intercultural and Community Engagement,
Department of Africana Studies, and the Black History Month Committee.
