Major/minor:

- Major: Health Sciences with a concentration in Emergency and Critical Care

- Minors: Biology and Health & Wellness

- I chose Health Sciences because I wanted to be able to have that small community feeling in my last year at Stony Brook. Along with that, I wanted to specialize in Emergency medicine because I absolutely love the idea of being a provider in the emergency department and having that critical role in saving a patient’s life within split seconds.

  • Favorite class?

One of my favorite non-healthcare classes during my time at Stony Brook was a journalism class with Professor Sanders. He brought great enthusiasm and was the reason I developed such a passion for journalism and wanted to pursue it as a double major for the longest time. (Unfortunately, with the time constraints of the Health Science program I could not accomplish that)

Greatest achievement?

I consider one of my greatest achievements to be the RA role I earned in sophmore year and continued to work in until my graduating day. My freshman year I worked incredibly hard to make myself the best candidate for the position. I studied hard all year long, participated in every event and developed close relationships with the people around me. I made my own community at Stony Brook and it genuinely made my freshman year very successful. I knew at the end of the day I needed to become an RA to help others make the best of their years at this school, and I believe I’ve done just that and create bonds that will stay with me well past graduation.

Advice for future Seawolves?

One piece of advice I have is that you truly do have to make your own time at Stony Brook. There are so many events going on almost constantly where you can meet people that are in similar career fields or just some new friends. It’s hard to venture out on your own, and especially hard when you come to a campus where you don’t know anybody. But trust me, once you have those experiences, you’ll love it here and it’ll be hard to walk on that stage come Commencement day. Your time at Stony Brook can only be defined by what you make of it, and what you do on this campus and in your own life!
