Nayoung Yang is a doctoral candidate in English at Stony Brook University. She received both her BA and MA from Yonsei University, South Korea. Her research focuses on the relationship between 20th and 21st century global Asian literature and food. Exploring the discursive structures that shape notions of cultural authenticity, she examines how the sensorial experiences that surround food are put to work in the name of reclamation, recuperation, and reconciliation. She was a fellow at the Futures of American Studies Institute, Dartmouth, and won the Distinguished Travel Award.
