The collection is comprised of 5 linear inches of land deeds and documents pertaining
to the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Many of the items
focus on the geographic area known as Brookhaven Hamlet. The dates of the documents
span from 1780 to 1929 and include the surnames Helme, Rose, Hawkins, Myhr, and Mott.

The Town of Brookhaven was settled in 1655 when English settlers arrived on the north
shore of Long Island.
