Stony Brook University presents its annual exhibition of works by senior art majors and minors and digital art minors. The Senior Show includes paintings, sculpture, ceramics, prints, photographs, digital media, mixed-media installations and works on paper by this year's graduating class.
The URECA Art Exhibition celebrates outstanding artwork created by Stony Brook University undergraduate students, selected by Art Department studio art faculty. Sponsored by the Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities (URECA) and featured as a part of the Shirley Strum Kenny Student Arts Festival, this exhibition has juried awards and distinctions presented by the Office of the Dean of Students and Gallery North.

The MFA Thesis Exhibition 2021presents new work by Stony Brook University's graduating Master of Fine Arts students, Stuart Balius, Yifei Cheng, Marta Baumiller and Annemarie Waugh. All four artists are degree candidates in the Department of Art’s MFA program. The exhibition features painting, sculpture, prints, photographs, video and installation art. The online exhibition also offers artist statements and bios, and opportunities to connect virtually with the artists.

ARTISTS AS INNOVATORS featured works by 22 NYFA/NYSCA Artist Fellows including Elia Alba, Dawoud Bey, Sanford Biggers, Ross Bleckner, Chitra Ganesh, Faith Ringgold, Dread Scott, Shinique Smith and Fred Wilson. The works on display showed how the fellows addressed pressing and often controversial issues through their art, including racism, gender equality, sexual orientation, immigration, and globalization.

ICONICITY
January 26-February 23, 2019
ICONICITY brings together contemporary artworks that examine the concept, construction, and mythology of the icon. The artists in the exhibition explore ideas ranging from the connection between Medieval devotional iconography and emojis to the religious fervor of technology. Guest curated by Munich-based artist and curator Gretta Louw, the exhibition includes video, software and net art, textile art, and digital prints by nine international artists and artist groups.

Rolling Point: A Project by Emily Beattie & Eric Gunther

Dancer Emily Beattie and media artist Eric Gunther team up to create an interactive film installation called ROLLING POINT. Multiple large projections create an immersive environment exploring the resonance between our bodies and the bodies we watch on screen. Through interactive technology, visitors’ movements are linked with the movements of a dancer on film. An electroacoustic soundscape swells as visitors move with the film.

Faculty members of Stony Brook's Art Department select from among the best work of this year's graduating class. The 2017 URECA Art Exhibition presents nearly 30 student artists in a group show composed of distinct expressive voices using a variety of media in drawing and painting, sculpture and ceramics, printmaking and photography, video and digital art.
