SBU Educators Alumni Network Symposium
“The Future of Education Post COVID-19”
Tuesday, April 5 from 5 to 6:30 pm | Online via Zoom
Join the Educators Alumni Network as we explore concrete ways to reimagine the future of education post Covid-19.
Education has experienced incredible and unprecedented challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The coronavirus pandemic upended almost every aspect of schooling at once. It was not just the move from classrooms to computer screens. It tested basic ideas about instruction, attendance, testing, funding, the role of technology and the human connections that hold it all together.
“There may be an opportunity to reimagine what schools will look like,” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona told the Washington Post. “It’s always important we continue to think about how to evolve schooling so the kids get the most out of it.”
Our keynote speaker will beDr. Noah W. Sobe. Dr. Sobe is a Senior Project Officer on the UNESCO Future of Learning and Innovation team and also a Professor of Cultural and Educational Policy Studies at Loyola University Chicago (on leave).
About the Event
This online symposium is designed to allow for reflection and analysis. After the keynote presentation, participants will network and collaborate within online breakout rooms.
We need your support for this event! We want to show this outside expert that there is genuine interest in this issue on the part of New York’s educators.
