Offshore Wind
As offshore wind makes its way to Long Island, the workforce ecosystem will receive a massive overhaul. From utility workers and HVDC transmission to environmental justice initiatives to turbine maintenance, workforce development is paramount as the energy ecosystem changes. Affiliated and partner faculty from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, College of Business, and university administration collaborate with wind developers, utilities, OEMs, and the supply chain to develop training programs for the increased workforce needed to meet New York State’s offshore wind goals.
