The mission of the Stony Brook University Police-Department Office of Emergency Management
(UPD-OEM) is to protect the entire campus community and build, sustain, and improve
our capabilities to maintain the highest level of preparedness. The UPD-OEM will provide
leadership to mitigate loss of life and vital assets prior to, during and after an
incident and will facilitate the fastest possible recovery from all-natural or man-made
disasters and emergencies. The SBU-OEM works with all emergency responders, public
and private agencies, business communities and volunteer organizations to meet this
mission.
