Organ Donation
In the US, nearly 120,000 people are in need of transplants. They are husbands, wives, children, neighbors and family members. One organ donor has the potential to save as many as eight lives and improve up to 50 lives with tissue donation.
The Center for Prevention and Outreach (CPO) partners with LiveOnNY, a nonprofit organization committed to helping New York live on through organ and
tissue donation and to caring for families touched by donation, to educate the campus
community about organ donation. We also work together to encourage students, faculty
and staff at SBU to learn about organ donation and register to save lives.

Who can become a donor?
Anyone can become an organ donor. A person’s medical history or age does not automatically exclude them from being a donor. Register today to become an organ donor!
