The MFA THESIS EXHIBITION 2016 presents new work by Stony Brook University's graduating Master of Fine Arts students. The exhibition includes sculpture, painting, video and mixed media works by Ye-seul Choi, Heather M. Cruce, Myda El-Maghrabi, Victoria Febrer and Logan Marks. All five artists are degree candidates in the Stony Brook University Department of Art's Master of Fine Arts program.

Choi's delicately painted flags explore the working process of abstraction. Cruce's large-scale ceramic installations reference the fragility and finite beauty of the human body and nature. Through her anonymous plaster and latex figures, El-Maghrabi addresses the individual's relationship to society. Febrer's video imagery centers on the relationship of the universal and the personal. Marks employs materials such as concrete, wood and steel, along with old electronics, to create sculptures that reflect on our role as creators and consumers.
