SBU HAPPENINGS: Campus Art Crawl Kicks off MFA Student Exhibit at Zuccaire Gallery

New works of art by five graduate students will be on display at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery in the Staller Center from Tuesday, March 22, through Saturday, April 9. The start of the exhibit coincides with a campus-wide Art Crawl on Tuesday, March 22, from 3 to 5 pm, culminating in a talk by the artists in the Zuccaire Gallery at 4:20 pm, followed by a reception. A closing reception honoring the artists will be held on Saturday, April 9, from 7 to 9 pm at the Gallery. The exhibition, Art Crawl and receptions are free and open to the public.

The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated catalog that includes artist statements and color images of each artist's work.

Zuccaire Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 12 pm to 4 pm, and Saturday, 7 pm to 9 pm. The Gallery is also open one hour before and during the intermission of most Staller Center performances.

Art Crawl

The Art Crawl on March 22 includes guided tours of the various art galleries on campus. It will begin at the Lawrence Alloway Gallery in the Melville Library at 3 pm, followed by the Jasmine Gallery in the Wang Center at 3:40 pm, and will culminate in the Zuccaire Gallery on the first floor of the Staller Center with a talk by the artists in the MFA Thesis Exhibition at 4:20 pm. The tour will be followed by a reception in the Zuccaire Gallery lobby at 5 pm.

A second art crawl will be held on Thursday, April 21, from 3 to 5 pm. Each tour is followed by a reception. The Art Crawl tours and receptions are free and open to the public.
