Stony Brook University’s campus-wide Art Crawl presents free guided tours led by expert
curators and artists. The Art Crawl brings the campus community together to explore
the University’s variety of renowned galleries and art spaces. Stop by at any point along the tour.
1 | 12:30pm at Simons Center Gallery, Simons Center for Geometry and Physics, Level 1
The Altgeld Math Models
Features 12 selected mathematical models from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s
historic collection of nearly 400 models from Altgeld Hall. Curated by SCGP Art Director
Lorraine Walsh in collaboration with the Dept of Mathematics and the University Library
at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

MFA Exhibition by Madeline Yacovone, Master of Fine Arts third year graduate student

Noel W Anderson: Black Excellence
Featuring large-scale tapestries, video and works on paper exploring themes of Black
success, labor and performance by renowned artist Noel W Anderson.

Walking the World: Gareth Fuller’s Art of Place
This exhibition presents the work of Gareth Fuller, a British artist whose intricate
maps offer a striking counterpoint to an age shaped by artificial intelligence, digital
navigation, and automated image-making. At a time when places are increasingly experienced
through screens with shrinking attention spans, Fuller provides a deeply human alternative:
slow observation, physical movement, and the patient act of drawing by hand.
5 | 2:30pm at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), Social and Behavioral
Sciences Building (SBS)
New to the SBU Art Crawl is the OLLI Art Exhibition, featuring artwork in various
mediums from OLLI members.OLLI is a lifelong learning program designed for retired and semi-retired adults ages
50+ who wish to be part of a community of curious individuals who share a passion
for learning. OLLI artists will be on-hand at the exhibition to discuss their artwork
with visitors and answer questions. Includes a reception with light refreshments.
Parking (fees apply) is available in the Administration Parking Garage, which is conveniently located near the Social and Behavioral Sciences Building and other campus destinations. Accessible parking is available throughout campus.

Join us for campus-wide tours of the art galleries at Stony Brook University. This
free series of events is open to the public and takes place twice per semester. 
Stony Brook University is host to a variety of renowned art galleries that provide
unique environments for diverse cultural and artistic exchanges.
Art Crawls unite our university galleries through a series of free, guided tours led
by curators. This initiative directly supports the university’s commitment to celebrating diversity and positioning the university in the global community.
The Office of Creative Arts, of Student Activities and Engagement, in collaboration with the Charles B. Wang Center, Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery, Simons Center Gallery, Special Collections and University Archives of the University Libraries, and the Lawrence Alloway Gallery founded the Stony Brook University "Art Crawl" in 2015.
Curators and artists are present at each venue to introduce the exhibit and to facilitate discussion on artists and themes from diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, political, scientific and socioeconomic backgrounds. Students, the wider university community, and visitors can experience art on campus by viewing one-of-kind creative works and participating in lively discussions. Events have featured works by professional artists, art produced by undergraduate and graduate students, and selections from the university’s own historical collections.
The schedule and locations of the Art Crawls vary each semester. All are welcome to attend. RSVPs are not necessary. The events are free and can be joined at any of the stops along the crawl.
