Flash Floods in the New York City Metropolitan Area, September 29-October 7, 2023, Tropical Storm Ophelia is a set of photographs depicting a still-life scene of a rosebush stalk, covered in rain droplets. Over the period of one week, and during particularly heavy precipitation in New York with rainfalls measured at 8.05 inches, setting the record for the highest levels of precipitation in one day since 1948, Berbic captured photographs of the plant as it underwent the process of drying. Through these images, the artist lends photography an evidentiary power through time, the aspiration to expose and record transpiring moments that might otherwise escape observation.isakberbic.com5'
